Customer Review: Excellent safety device for bicyclists

Bought four of these as a Christmas gift for my brother (he commutes to & from work by bike). Another reviewer had suggested two per wheel for balance. Yet another reviewer on another website reported the directions for keeping the lights on were not clear. That's true, and thank you to that reviewer for explaining the lights were not broken, they just require pushing the on button longer or a second time (I don't remember which), but to be patient with getting them to work (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5).
My brother reports that the lights are VERY bright and work very well.
While I was waiting at a dark bus stop, I noticed that the cyclists who passed by me were very well-lit in front and back, but when they cycled through the T-intersection in the dark, they were almost invisible to the traffic from the side. So this sister got her brother MORE lights for Christmas!!
I highly recommend them!
Customer Review: Fantastic for night time visibility

I bought these so that I can still go riding during the summer without dying under the desert sun. I have three green ones in front and two red ones in back. Having three on one wheel can give you that circle of light effect while cycling around 15mph, and it feels a little more balanced to me.
Some people have mentioned that it is a bit of a strobe effect when on a REALLY dark path/road, which is a little true if you are staring down, but otherwise it doesn't bother me.
I feel VERY visible with these on my bike, but it certainly not a replacement for a flashing front and tail light. I believe that it helps drivers at intersections be better able to gauge your speed as you approach.
I've had these a few months now and the batteries are starting to dim to the point where I feel they need to be replaced. It has probably been around 20 hours of 'Steady On' to get to this point. There are two small holes on the lights for packaging, but I used these holes with small zip ties to wrap around the spoke to deter people from grabbing them off my bike, or from bouncing off when my bike is on my car's rack (although that second part seems unlikely, they feel pretty secure).
I would've given it a full five stars if the product was a little lighter and maybe a little longer battery life.
(Most negative reviews seem to have ignored the GIANT YELLOW TAG on the product that tells you to hold the button down for 30 seconds to get out of demo mode)

I hate bicycling at night in darken areas and though my Giant Sedona Mountain Bicycle is equipped with both high quality front/rear lights,spotting potholes and other bicycle damaging street depressions can still be difficult at times.Thus i choose 2 buy these green spokelites 2 improve my overall visibity of the grounds below.Plus i like trickin out my bicycle with cool accessories.Needless 2 say these spokelits are a godsent.Though a tad difficult 2 put on,once on they're quite secure.Nevertheless i'd put something extra on it to secure it from possible theft.As far as the batteries r concern replace the 2 cr2016 with 1 cr2032(as the included batteries tends 2 be semi drained of power).Plus it's more cost effective 2 use just 1 battery.Anyways,i'm buying 2 more of these green spokelites and possibly 2 disco lights for the ultimate glow effect.Be safe and smart fellow cyclers!Customer Review: Great for visibility - recommended!

I've been a bike commuter for three years. I've owned these lights for two months. I have two green ones on each wheel, and I run them in flash mode. Not only does the flash mode conserve batteries, but it also makes me more visible when I'm stopped at traffic lights or stop signs.
My commute is approximately 30 minutes, and I've used these lights 3-4 days per week for about two months. The original batteries are still going strong.
A few weeks ago I had a driver pull beside me at a stop light and tell me he had noticed me when I was about 1/4 mile in front of him. He said the rotation of the lights on the wheels made it very clear that he was approaching a bicycle. Ride on! Strongly recommended.
UPDATE: I've now had these lights for four months. They've been through rain, mud, road salt & sand and everything else the road can throw at them. The original batteries are still working. I'm so pleased that I bought some for my daughter's bike.

I love this product! I bought 2 of them, one for each wheel. The bad reviews are from people who can't seem to follow directions. There is a notice on the product that you have to hold down the button until the light blinks the 1st time you use it. You even have to remove the tag that tells you this with a pair of scissors and still these people won't read it. Anyway... great product that has really improved my visibility for when I commute home on my bike in the evening. Be aware that here in CA and some other states that you can't have a red or blue light so I bought the green one to keep out of trouble with local law enforcement. You may want to research this a little before you buy. It was mentioned to me and when I looked into it, it turned out to be true. This is the only affordable product I have found that gives you good side visibility when riding your bike. I have a headlight, a blinky taillight from Planet Bike that is wonderful for rear visibility and now one of these on each wheel. I am much more visible to the other traffic and I am not as afraid that I will get hit on the way home. Just a great product that I can't endorse enough if you have to ride in evening or night conditions like me. Happy cycling!
