Tools and Hardware Reviews of Norelco 4222-036-06150 NiCd AA Battery Cell Pack ( This item has been discontinued by Norelco but iCustomer Review: Works to power razor Summary: 5 Stars
Like other reviewers have said, this is not a drop in battery. You must remove the previous battery pack and install this one with solder.
Remove the two screws on on the back of the razor (one is under the flip up for the trimmer).
What I did was break the leads off the old battery. A little wiggling will do this.
Remove the old battery pack.
Carefully lift up the circuit board in the handle that the battery is attached to. The connection to the motor does not look real strong.
Unsolder the leads left from the old battery. Make sure to get all the solder out of the holes.
Install the new battery pack.
Solder the leads of the new battery.
Put the circuit board back in.
Close the case and screw it back together.
Mine had a little charge in it. I would recommend charging it up for a while before really using it though.
Customer Review: Worth the extra few bucks Summary: 5 Stars
I replaced my original batteries about a year ago with a cheaper set and they did not perform well. Had to charge every 4th shave. I bought these original replacements and didn't have to charge until at least 10 shaves. I am very satisfied with these batteries.
Customer Review: ez unless you're chicken... Summary: 5 Stars
brought my shaver back to life... easy to take the shaver apart... unsolder the old battery... don't use a wicking wire because will have to add too much heat to remove the old solder (a necessary thing to do when soldering to a printed ckt board.).. spend another [...] on a Soldapult Desoldering Pump --> [...] use as little heat as necessary to solder the new battery in place. Mine is working perfectly-- and since original battery lasted over 7 years, I bet I am good for at least that much longer yet again...
Customer Review: norelco shaver replacement battery pack Summary: 5 Stars
The product is fine. It arrived on time and appears to be an exact replacement for the original battery pack in my shaver. You will definitely save money this way instead of buying a whole new shaver but you better be handy and clever with you hands and tools to be succesful doing the removal/installation. Norelco doesn't make it easy and I was thinking that this wasn't going to work out in my favor but I was determined. Take your time. I used surgical type clamps to help secure the leads while I was soldering and had to take apart the case 3 or 4 times afterward to prevent any short circuits and to have good contact while I was stuffing everything back inside. Read the other reviews too because they have some helpful hints also. I think that the shipping cost for the batteries was excessive but this company seems to be the only one selling this item unless you buy a generic one.
