I ordered this mitt for my wife as she regularly is whipping hot pans of cookies from the oven. While the heat insulating properties are great, it is severely lacking in tactile dexterity. The mitt is NOT very flexible and you'll find yourself second guessing whether or not you have a good grip on the hot item. This partly may be due to the fact the mitt is ambidextrous. Since the thumb is directly in line with the hand, once you add in the extra bulk for insulation it makes it very hard to close your grip on an object.
I want to stress that the mitt is great at protecting your hand...but just keep the dexterity issue in mind.
