We've had a junky white plastic strainer in the disposal opening for years and I was looking for something nicer. The size of the disposal opening isn't an issue for this sink strainer, as it sits over the opening. It stays in place and the middle knob is just for lifting it out.Customer Review: Good strainer

This is a great product. It is cheap and it does it job well. Its nice beacuse you can pull the silicone part to invert it, which helps to clean it out. Also, it is silicone so you can just toss it in the dishwasher every few days to keep it sanitary.Customer Review: Good strainer

I've owned this strainer for about a year. For the first 6 months, it was great. It strains very well and my sing rarely clogged up. After that, while it continued working well, it became harder and harder to clean. I guess the silicone retains bacteria? Slimy stuff would build up on the bottom and under the rim. Whatever it is, even though I would often take a sponge to it and spray it with Clorox bleach spray top and bottom, it still retained its "stink." I finally have given up and decided it can't possibly be sanitary anymore if it smells bad, so I threw it away. I'm trying another strainer this time, but may go back to it... even if I have to replace it once a year, it's not exactly expensive.Customer Review: Great Buy!!!

We're so happy with this strainer! Agree with the first reviewer that it is so much better than the mesh baskets that fall apart, scratch you up, and are dirty no matter what you do to keep them clean. I don't see any mentions of the stopper feature that's on this. you actually can turn the center stem and pull up or down (not completely up) and it will act as a stopper as well. works great, cleans like a dream, looks nice too! the ONLY thing is that that stopper feature (turning the stem) , I'd like to see it a bit 'tighter' it seams that the little stem will turn on its own sometimes - with dishes in the sink etc - and go into stopper mode. you don't realize till the water fills up.
even with this - its STILL fabulous!!! and I would buy it again over any other stopper!
