I bought an older home and lots of things wear out or didn't come with the home (you know how they got "lost"). I have old pipes that tend to clog when I use the garbage disposal and I need to protect it. I have bought several other kinds and they don't work well. This OXO works great and you don't have to worry b/c this works! If I lost mine I would buy it againCustomer Review: Great!

This is a copy of the review I left for this product with the added "stopper" feature. The review applies here as well.
Saw these at Wholefoods for around $15. Thought I'd check out Amazon. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are the same price there, $7.99 for the ones without the stopper, $9.99 for the ones with. I first bought the ones with the stopper. But, as another poster stated, they did not stay in my sinks. I guess all sinks are not created equal. I would push them all the way in and they would slowly pop themselves out over the course of about 3 seconds. This is exactly why I bought at a store where I could return them. Took them back and got the ones without the stoppers. So far so good. They look great and the food debris is easy to remove. Yes, they get filled up when you are doing a lot of rinsing, but I have not found this to be a problem. They are there to catch that stuff, afterall.
Added note - The stopper did not touch anything in my sink or drain when just "dropped down" so, maybe some drains are further down than others. I had to push it to make contact but it would not stay there.

I already had 2 of these but when I wash them I have nothing in my sink and the wife still puts plates with crap on them in the sink so I figured I had better buy a backup set. I was satisfied with the first pair I bought 4 years ago and I am satisfied with this pair. A great product! Easy to use, clean, empty out and they look nice too against my black fake ass granite sink.Customer Review: Holes too big, debris pass through!

Pros: Silicone underside creates good seal to force water go above instead of beneath strainer. Silicone pull/push makes cleaning easier. Unit well built & looks high-tech.
Cons: Holes way too big & let stuff pass through - defeating purpose of having a strainer!
I use a cheapo Bed, Bath & Beyond $3 stainless mesh strainer underneath this. This $3 strainer is really small & sits way down in the drain, catching whatever the OXO one misses (which is a lot btw). The $3 strainer doesn't touch or interfere w/ the OXO function. But for us who use septic system, it's best to stop as much debris from getting into our drain as possible.
For all fairness, if the holes on this OXO are any smaller, this thing will be blocked in a day or 2...
