Tools and Hardware Reviews of OXO Good Grips SimplyTear Standing Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless SteelCustomer Review: Best on the market Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered two paper towel holders and am very pleased with my purchase. One for the kitchen and the other for my art studio. I use paper towels to clean my oil painting brushes. I usually have a paint brush in one hand and need to be able to control the number of paper towels I need, using the other hand. The paper towel holders have a nice weight and the tension arm allows the user one handed control.
Customer Review: Buying my second one-love it! Summary: 5 Stars
We have had one for two years in our weekend cabin...love it so much we are now getting one for home! Been searching all over for this particular one in local stores with no luck. Delighted to find it here. Sturdy, looks good, easy to use and clean. A winner!
Customer Review: COOL! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this thing and so do my kids. When we first got it, unfortunately that meant lots of tearing off paper towels just to see if it works every time. It does work every time! You can single-handedly tear off one sheet at a time. Plus it looks cool and matches my kitchen. Can't go wrong with that.
Customer Review: Definitely not worth the money Summary: 2 Stars
The bigger size towel rolls dont allow the spring arm mechanism to work properly. The lock open point is just in the right place to need forcing it against the side of the roll when new, and even then will pop open again. This would be a little better with smaller rolls, but it's still not up to par when it comes to not pulling out more sheets than you want. Bringing it back to return. (I was just testing it with no high hopes of it being a good design anyway or would have bought it on Amazon.)
Customer Review: For Those Hard To Buy For Types... Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this space age looking towel holder as a housewarming gift just recently. The folks with the new house have one of those super contemporary looking kitchens that this fits just perfectly in. And, as I expected, there was not another there that got them anything close to it. It not only is unique as such a gift, but also works as well as it promises. The spring loaded arm and weighted base make tearing towels with one hand a snap. I mean every time I tried it, it worked perfectly. No more attempts at one handed tears that go awry and you end up with a long string of towels unraveling all over your kitchen. The new homeowners loved it. The only thing I would warn anyone with this holder is how very modern it looks. It's definitely one of those really contemporary, stylish, upscale looking contraptions that would look great in a modern kitchen, but stick out like a paintball shot on the Mona Lisa in an old fashioned kitchens with lots of wood, and traditional fixtures and canisters. This is the kind of look that one either finds very fashionable, or ungodly cold and ugly. If you happen to be one that favors this look, the price and performance of this holder is top notch, and I recommend it highly for the modern kitchen...
