Sure, if you use a hammer to put the legs on, they will probably crack. Just be carefull, take your time and slide the legs into the slots made for them. The bottom cap will screw on over them and they won't fall off.
If you're not smart enough to put this together without instructions, don't buy it!

My new oaken coat tree is fabulous. Ever since day one it has performed beyond expectations. Right now it is over there in the corner holding three jackets and one hat without even being plugged in. Seriously, it is the best thing I have purchased this year as far as value and utility. I cannot pass it without patting myself on the back.Customer Review: JUNK

OMG I have NEVER purchased a piece of junk like this before in my life. No matter how many times or how much wood gle I use it keep falling down. The bad thing about it is there aren't any phone numbers or websites where I can get a replacement or refund.Customer Review: Nice Coat Rack

I ordered this coat rack a while back and it arrived in great condition. It was easy to put together and it looks really nice. It's sturdy and looks very nice in my front hall. The only thing that bothered me was that I paid almost $10 for shipping on this item. I think $3 or even $5 would have been more fair since it's not a huge item and it's not really heavy. I thought $10 was a bit excessive. So I paid $30 for a $20 coat rack. Then after I found the same rack locally, before this one arrived, I called the company and they wouldn't allow me to return it unless I wanted to pay the shipping BOTH ways... so I just kept it.Customer Review: Nice coat rack

Surprisingly nice quality for price. Very easy to assemble - takes only minutes and doesn't require instructions. Previously purchased the same item in cherry wood color (for another room in the house), and was equally pleased.
