Tools and Hardware Reviews of Optimus F-0645S 6-Inch 2-Speed Convertible Personal Clip-On/Table Fan, WhiteCustomer Review: Exactly what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a small fan to clip on to my computer desk during the day and onto my bed at night, just to keep me a little cooler when the weather gets to 80 or 90 degrees. It works perfectly for this purpose, and I'm very happy with it. I'm thinking of buying another to take with me to work on hot days.
Customer Review: Garbage Summary: 1 Stars
This fan was awful and didn't work out of the box, as follows:
- The off/hi/lo switch wasn't installed right and kept falling into the housing when you tried to use it
- The lo setting didn't even work
- Upon looking into it, the wiring for the lo setting wasn't even hooked up!
Conclusion: Looks like someone assembled this in their garage. The wiring wasn't soldered and just held together with electrical tape. This fan is great if you just wanna throw away $10! I suppose you get what you pay for.
Customer Review: Great Little Air Mover Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to use at work. It is small and quiet enough to sit on the desk, yet moves enough air to cool the entire office.
I am warm blooded and enjoy the constantly moving air. It makes me feel more comfortable in warm weather, even in air conditioned spaces.
If you need that little bit extra cooling in the summer, but are reluctant or unable to increase the air conditioning, this little fan is a good solution.
Customer Review: Great value. Cheap assembly, but a low-cost product Summary: 4 Stars
It's a good fan for the price, but Amazon can't compete with local supermarkets and other stores. Turns out that this EXACT same fan is available under other brand names. I found a second one at my local supermarket for $10 marked as "Cool-Breeze" brand.
As another reviewer mentioned, the switch fell in on mine as well, but after removing a single Philips screw to get inside, it was easy to clip the switch back into place and it works fine. I would guess that it was never seated properly, because once I re-seated it, it's very sturdy and isn't going to fall in any time soon.
The fan is powered by a standard wall outlet and has a Hi/Lo/Off switch on the back. Comes with a table stand and a clip (can be swapped out with a thumbscrew). It has 360 degree rotation in one direction and can tilt up and down nearly 90, so you can cover just about every direction.
Check your local stores to see if they have the same one for a competitive price.
Customer Review: Poor quality - both cracked Summary: 1 Stars
I bought two of these. One shipped with a slight crack in the clip which ended up completely cracking after 4 or 5 clips. The second one developed the crack after a couple clips and will probably crack soon. I live near the manufacturer so I am going to try and exchange them.
