I cant say enough about this little guy. It works like a charm, its safe and it is flat to back it up by the wall and keep it out of the way. The only thing I wish this had was a fan, but it works great. I keep it right next to my desk while I am working and it keeps me toasty.

I've had this heater going for a few weeks now, since the weather turned chilly, and now I wouldn't want to give it up. It works very well in front of my captain's chair to keep my lower body toasty warm, which keeps my whole body comfortable. I've been using two of these in two different small rooms for a year now. Each of them is combined with a Lux Products WIN100 Programmable Thermostat.
This heater is unusually quiet. I am a light sleeper, and I find it almost impossible to get a good rest while using a heater that has a fan, but I have been sleeping fine while having this heater only four feet away from my bed.
I am now buying two more of these heaters which will be used together to heat a large room (12 x 17 feet).

I purchased the Optimus H-5210 Quartz electric heater to replace my Presto parabolic heatdish that burned out after seven years of use.
The Optimus Quartz heater was only $23 and the Presto HeatDish is $66 so the Optimus is a very good value. The Optimus does not produce as much heat output as the Presto Heatdish but it is sufficient for a small bathroom, which is where we use it. Quartz heaters and Infrared heaters are very good at producing heat in a small focused zone. They are not the best choice to heat up an entire room. The Optimus is designed to radiate heat in a small area directly in front of the heater. We use it for warming up after getting out of the shower in winter. It produces good direct heat at distances up to four to five feet at the 800-watt setting. The heater also has a 400-watt setting but this will not warm you up quickly on a cold morning. In comparison, the Presto Heatdish consumes 1,000 watts of electricity but it also puts out a lot more heat than the Optimus H-5210.
The Optimus heater would be a good choice for someone that is stationary but wants to keep warm for an extended period of time in a room or work environment where you cannot control the temperature setting for the entire room. In this scenario you could place the heater close to you and use the 400-watt setting which would save a lot of energy usage when compared against other portable electric heaters. The unit is very quiet because it has no fan and it does not hum like many other electric heaters. If your need a small heater for focused heat in a narrow zone the Optimus is a good choice at a very reasonable price.
