Tools and Hardware Reviews of Orbit 62001 Lawn and Garden Digital Watering TimerCustomer Review: Great product. Summary: 5 Stars
I live in the high desert. In winter the temperatures reach 0 fh. This is the only hose timer that continues to work in cold temperatures. (Not designed for it, but it does work) I've tried so many other timers this is the only model that lasts. Great product I now have 5 of them.
Customer Review: Great timer Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned several of these timers for years. Batteries last a long time, approximately 6 months. The programming is easy and very flexible, including individual days of the week. The 24 hour delay button is handy. I had one valve go bad, and the seal for the battery compartment is thin and breaks easily. However, the broken seal caused no problem, and one bad valve after years of use isn't too shabby.
Customer Review: Great watering timer Summary: 5 Stars
We used this when we went on vacation and set the timer. To our delight our flowers and plants survived the 90+ degree heat. I would definitely recommend.
Customer Review: Hi Tech Controller Summary: 5 Stars
Have been using the old type Orbit controllers. This is a new high tech version of the same principal. But its much better in that it is computer controlled (chips inside) and completely water proof, where as the old timers, well if they got wet then they quit.
Its easy to program and recommend you buy them...
Customer Review: High Quality Garden Timer Summary: 5 Stars
Over the years I've gone through several garden hose timers to water my garden and yard. Usually, I just go down to the local hardware store and pick one up. However, usually after only 1 season, the timer starts to leak and floods the battery compartment, which kills the battery. The timers that I previously bought were made by Melnor Inc. and both broke within the same season I bought them.
This time I bought the Orbit timer and spent a little more money (extra $10), but already, I'm glad I did. Not only is it easy to program especially because of the removable programming unit, but it is simply built better than the Melnor timers.
Time will only tell if this one will leak too, but I'm optimistic because it seems to be built better and with higher quality parts.
