Customer Review: How to remove the label!

I read the reviews while waiting for this to arrive and wondered to myself "yikes - what could be so bad about a label?" Well now folks, I'm reviewing this because I feel your pain. I understand your angst. And I'm here to help. :)
Removing the label is quite simple actually. First peel it off slowly, and hopefully you'll remove 50% or more of the adhesive. You don't want to rip the paper. To get the rest of the residue off, put the label back on the can. Press down over the adhesive that stuck to the can. Then pull the label off again. Don't peel it, but pull it off.
Act as if you're using masking tape to remove lint from clothing. You can even ball up the label (sticky side out) and "blot" the adhesive.
Just try it, you'll get what I'm talking about. The adhesive on the can wants to stick to the adhesive on the label in your hand more than it wants to stay on the can.
Otherwise, the trashcan is great and I'd definitely recommend it to someone.

I have had my Oxo Good Grips Black Plastic Trash Can for about 3 weeks now. The reviews I read were correct - the label was very difficult to remove. Don't try Goo-Gone it removes some of the color on the can. Any who - the cover has come off several times (it is off right now) I do manage to get it back on but, I have a house full of children several days a week & I think its a little too delicate for them. All and all it serves the purpose... It holds trash .Customer Review: It's worth the money

A little more than we would pay for a trash can normally but it is worth it, we've been very happy with it for several months now, i especially like that fact that you don't have to touch the lid because you use the foot peddle to open, it also looks attractive, and it fits into a small kitchen well.Customer Review: Just as described - no sticker removal problem

I have a hard time getting excited over a garbage can but as they go this one is very nice and just as described. One thing I wanted to point out is that the stickers on the can both came off in one piece with no problems and no residue left behind. I had gotten frustrated with my previous garbage can lid falling off every time I opened it and my bag falling off after I dropped the first heavy item in it. With this OXO Good Grips trash can, the little clip that holds the bag tight is genius! I don't worry anymore about losing it. And I love the step lever to open it without my hands, and also being able to keep the lid open. The only thing that could make this can more super is if the hinge didn't stick out a few inches from the back of the can because mine is placed against my fridge in a doorway and blocks a little more space than would need to, but I've angled it some to help and won't keep me from enjoying it. (It sounds sad that a garbage can could bring me joy- but after my previous experiences, I'm fine admitting it)
As far as the sticker people have mentioned, I'm glad I had read other's comments, and I peeled VERY slowly, it is a very strong adhesive, and then used it balled up to remove a little residue, but other than taking a few extra minutes of my time, I'm satisfied with the results.
