I bought this product in spite of the reviews that mentioned the ball and socket joint was not strong enough to hold a shower head in place. I thought people may just not be tightening the sleeve around the ball joint tight enough. Sure enough, I just had to tighten the sleeve by turning it a quarter turn and the holder doesn't droop down when you put a handheld shower head in. I'm guessing the reason why this product ships with the sleeve screwed on loose is that you need to unscrew it to access one of the mounting holes. If you're using the included adhesive strips alone to mount the holder to your wall, you probably wouldn't realize the sleeve can be tightened.
