This shower head is OK. I was hoping that it would be so much better because I live in an apartment and lack the water pressure. It does bring a little more power to my lovely shower, but the noise the shower head makes is pretty loud. I cannot even describe it. My recommendation is to look for another shower head. I live in an apartment that pays the water bill for me and the apartment staff recently decided to replace everyone's shower head with a water-saving low-flow model so they could maximize profit. The shower head they installed was so horrible that it increased my shower time 5x and wouldn't wash off the soap.
So...I went to the local home improvement labyrinth and bought a Peerless 5-setting shower massage head that was not cheap. Well, I couldn't stand the Peerless either. It was too soft on all settings, and not much better than the cheap lo-flow the apartment staff installed.
Moving on, my friend recommended the Oxygenics. "It's the best one out there", he said. Going on a single word-of-mouth recommendation, I bought the so-called top of the line Oxygenics "5-star" model. Since hindsight is 20/20 I should have realized that I have never gotten a decent shower in any hotel/resort...even the 5-star ones. Anyway, I installed the Oxygenics.
There really is a sucker born every minute, and I was one of them for buying this piece of junk.
The first thing about it is the noise. It is LOUD. 3x louder than the stock showerhead, and 5x louder than the Peerless. I can't even hear my shower-radio with this thing.
Second, the water sort of "sprays" out of the middle in a chaotic frenzy, attacking your skin with needle-like droplets of water. A "water wind" is generated as the water sprays forth. This thing is misty. The water droplets also disperse to the point of being ineffective by the time the water reaches you, unless you are up close to the shower head. I have good water pressure; in fact, I would say that my water pressure is excellent. Yet this shower head effectively reduces my water pressure by 75%!
Third, I didn't notice any beneficial effects from the "super oxygenated" water blend. What I did notice is that my wallet was drained of another $39.95 for an ineffective product.
As another reviewer suggested, the $5 shower head from the dreggs of the lower shelf at the home improvement mecca does a much, much better job than this phony.
Save your money.
P.S. the "adjustment knob" just cuts the water flow down to a lower flow rate. Since the shower head is ineffective at the highest rate, it certainly isn't effective at a lower GPM rate.

We originally purchased one of these through Hammacher Schlemmer and was extremely pleased. But, we needed 3 more which would have been 59.95 each while through Amazon they were 39.95! Big savings! The heads work great, make you feel relaxed and work as advertised. The naysayers must have never actually stayed in a 5 star resort because these shower heads would be right at home at any 5 star resort anywhere!!!!!Customer Review: Shower heads that do what they should, provide good flow

The handle should not only change the pressure but should provide a shut off as well.
Of course you can still turn off the shower knobs.
It works better than antipicated.
