Tools and Hardware Reviews of P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage MonitorCustomer Review: A real eye opener Summary: 5 Stars
This is a simple to use device that allows you to see how you are adding all those dollars to your power bill. It works just as advertised with one possible weakness of loosing all of it's data if you unplug it or the power goes off, normally not a problem.
I discovered which devices are eating up most of my power (pool pump 10kwh per day) and which are not (my HP printer eats about 6kwh per month).
Nice device well worth it's price for the information it brings.
Customer Review: A valuable tool for saving electricity Summary: 4 Stars
This easy-to-use tool provided us with some eye-opening information about our rather wasteful use of electricity. Some of our benign-looking appliances were actually secret energy hogs! It helped us make some very simple changes which resulted in a significant reduction in energy consumption. I recommend this product for every household in America.
Customer Review: A very hand tool for monitoring electrical usage Summary: 5 Stars
I got the P4400 Kill A Watt wattmeter to look at how much electrical power was used by various devices when they were "off". Most electronic devices to day do use a small amount of standby power to maintain user settings, keep memory alive, charge batteries and so forth. The good news is that power supplies are getting "smarter" in that they use less and less current when the device is turned off. I'm finding that only a watt or two is used in many cases. Other devices, like copiers and computers, use a lot more. The bottom line: turn things completely off when you're finished using them.
The P4400 does much more than just measure wattage used. It also gives you line voltage, amperage and several other measures.
For twenty bucks, this is a good deal in my opinion.
Customer Review: AWESOME Summary: 5 Stars
This little meter works perfectly. It's just what you want if you don't need time recording. Get it!
Customer Review: Accurate meter but not precise....still works as it should. Summary: 5 Stars
Since I purchased this item I know I was living in denial.
I undertsand the meter is not 100% precise but yes it is a 95-99% accurate. So this is enough for me to claim what I write today.
I purchased a APC SUA3000 UPS for my PC and HTS and finally after reading the actual watts I consume I decided not to install this UPS and sell it to buy a smaller one. Not much luck selling the UPS since it is big but eventually it will.
Regarding the Kill A Watt I definetely recommend to anyone trying to know the honest truth about their electric bill and any other thing this meter can help resolve, decide and reveal.
Regards
RA
