Customer Review: Did it scare them off at all? Not a bit.

I tried this product through a whole season and it made almost no difference to the deer entering my garden. I say `almost' as it did entertain them. Sadly I'm not joking; I discovered on a couple of occasions the deer standing within six feet of the device apparently listening intently to NPR on the radio. The one function it did serve was to alert me (I could hear the radio come on) when a deer entered the yard in the middle of the night.
Did it scare them off at all? Not a bit. It was also irritating as it keeps working during the day, there is no night only function. So if you work in the yard it will keep coming on and off as you move about the yard. It also tended to come on erratically if there was a bit of a breeze no mater how I adjusted the sensitivity.
All in all this product was a waste of time and money.
There are only two things that I have found that have made any difference to deer entering my yard. A fence and the Contech Electronics CRO101 Scarecrow Motion-Activated Sprinkler. The sprinkler worked brilliantly! The main down side to the sprinkler being that #1 it has to be connected to a water supply and #2 it will therefore not work in the winter months at least if you live in an area where it gets below freezing in the winter.

This device works fine for my uncle, which is why I was willing to try it. But he lives in an area where deer don't come into contact with humans as much. We live in a suburban area, but on the edge of farmland and woodland. So there is a real deer problem. They are very used to humans, so things like human noise, scent, soaps, etc. are not nearly as effective. In no time at all the deer were back to what they were doing and eating plants. The only ones really put out by this were the neighbors.Customer Review: No good

This thing is barely audible at 5 meters. The light does not flash at all; just stays on (dim). This thing would not scare a mouse; don't waste your money.
