Customer Review: Better tasting water, new improved easy-to-remove design Summary: 4 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I had a Pur system several years ago, and they've definitely seemed to improve since that time. While the filtration was always great, the product itself was big, unwieldy and hard to work with in a small space. Now that it's slightly more compact and much easier to remove/replace, I can enjoy delicious filtered water without having it block my small sink all the time. I'll update this review in the future as it "breaks in" to see if issues of leaking and whatnot crop up in the short term.
Customer Review: Better than the cheaper model Summary: 5 Stars
owned a couple of the lower priced base models and they always seem to get in the way of cooking (esp filling large pots) or when washing dishes.
This model attaches & de-attaches easily and fast, so you only need have it on for drinking water (or cooking if one prefers) otherwise it's out of the way.
Plus the changing of the filters is a snap, I mean a child can do it.
Best one I've purchased so far. Oh yeah, the water's good too!
Customer Review: Breaks easily. Summary: 1 Stars
I've purchased two PUR filters. The vertical model, and this horizontal model.
The vertical model cracked after nine months of light use by a single person, and began leaking.
The horizontal model leaked a bit from the very beginning around the faucet, and when replacing the filter today once again after nine months, I attempted to tighten it up to stop the leaking, only to have the thing start spraying water everywhere from where the twist knob connects to the body of the device!
No amount of adjustment would correct for this, so now, once again, I have a useless $50 filter I have to replace.
Even if the economics were in favor of the PUR filter over purchasing bottled water, I couldn't in good faith continue giving them money for a product they know will fail inside a year. This thing should have lasted at least two years. I live by myself and do hardly any cooking at home. It's not gotten a ton of use, and it's not like I've been beating on it.
If they made this thing out of metal it might be worth spending the money on, but as is, avoid it like the plague.
Customer Review: Broke easily, many issues Summary: 1 Stars
This thing did not function properly from day 1, I guess the mechanics of it is not good. sometimes it just stops passing water, and you have to disassemble it and put it together again, then it works. filters are really good though, the wate quality is great. I'll try another type of PUR devices, maybe will be better.
