I saw all the negative reviews on here and noticed that many of them were from a few years ago and many of them were due to poor construction of the filter hardware. I bought my PUR about 3 months ago and just came on here to buy my first new filter -- I thought I'd mention that the unit has not leaked at all since installation. I agree with those who saw that the clearance is affected by the unit, but with a goose-neck faucet you might find the filter hardware as intrusive.
Just thought I'd chime in and let people know that the newer design works well for us!

I've now owned three PUR filter products. The first was a pitcher, which worked fine. My first faucet mount eventually started to leak and something jammed up the insides a little. Customer service took good care of me. I now have this one ("stainless steel" - really plastic)I really think a lot of the problems were caused by really poor water quality. I live in an older place and sometimes the shower head ends up full of tiny chunks and fragments. The water here tastes terrible, as well. The PUR filter makes it MUCH better. Plus, I can't help but think their could be some health effects from drinking chlorine for years and years. I think it's a must have item, if you don't want to spend more for something even better.Customer Review: very good product

Water tastes weird. No chlorine taste which is good, but there is no other taste. It is as if you are drinking totally tasteless substance.
I've got a "stainless steel version, hoping that it would be more sturdy... but it is made from the same crappy plasstic that other colors... So if you are going to get this - don't pay more for stainless steel version.
It started leaking a little where it mounts to the faucet after a couple of month of ocassional use
I don't like the taste and tend not to use the filter often. Will probably throw away once the filter runs out.
I think I would have to stick with brita pitcher filter - water from it tastes much better.
