Had ordered this filter since the refregirator (Kenmore Elite) displayed the filter status as "order." The filter arrived apprxoimately 4 biz days with free shipping and the filter status still displayed as "order" and eventually changed to "replace" after a couple of more weeks later. Getting old one out and putting new one in took less than a minute.
The filter instruction recommands about 3 gallons of flush for the first use and that's a bit of downside but maybe common for other brand as well(?)
The water tastes good that's all it counts.

This couldn't be easier. Every six months, we replace the filter on our 2010 Kenmore. One push of the old cartridge pops it out, pop the new one in, filter a few pitchers of water to get rid of air in the line. All set for another six months. On our fridge, the panel even has a six month timer that reminds us to order the new filter, which we do from Amazon because it's the best price on the web.Customer Review: Exactly the same as the $55 Kenmore filter....

I bought those hoping it would fit my Kenmore fridge...and it does! In fact, when I pulled out that expensive Kenmore filter, I did a side-by-side comparison. The exteriors are identical. The Kenmore filter is also made by "Pur", and they must charge the extra $25 to put their name on it. I'm very pleased this filter fits and works well.
