Customer Review: Great Little Canister Vac

I've owned this vacuum for about a year. It replaced another Panasonic canister vac that I had for 30 years (with never a breakdown!), so I trusted this to be equally as well-made. My only criticism is the length of the cord. I'd prefer a longer one so more area could be vacuumed without having to change outlets. The suction is powerful and the suction adjustment knob is an added bonus. I have tile and hardwood floors plus 7 animals, but my house is always hair-free thanks to this strong lightweight vac.
P.S. My old Panasonic vac still lives on at my friend's house and hasn't quit yet. Hurray to Panasonic for making such quality products!

I bought this item after reading the reviews and noticing that my once-beloved (and much more expensive) Kenmore canisters were being made with progressively cheaper and flimsier parts. My goal was to use this vacuum primarily on hardwood floors and an occasional area rug. I had reservations about the head design (combination unit for carpets and bare floors) prior to ordering, and unfortunately my instincts were correct. On the positive side, this vacuum is very lightweight, has good suction, and has a fantastic feature for connecting the wand to the base for storage. The one negative is a substantial one, however. With the main head in place, the vacuum does an abysmal job on dust and will only collect particles if it goes over them fully centered on the hose unit. So instead of cleaning my floors by vacuuming then mopping, I was finding myself sweeping, vacuuming the debris, dust mopping (or Swiffering) and then mopping. It was so frustrating that I actually bought a Kenmore bare floor tool and modified it to fit the base. This works dramatically better. It's just a pity the vacuum didn't come with an attachment like this in the first place since I couldn't find one that would fit without modification.Customer Review: Great ergonomics and good balance of size and power

I have been using this product for 2 weeks and am delighted. The power is more than enough for small to medium jobs. The small size and weight makes it very easy to move around - you can pull it along on its big wheels or carry it by its handle. The ergonomics are excellent - there are several nice small touches, such as two slots to park the head in two positions. Quality construction and materials.
Yes, it's a bit noisy but not excessively so and I would guess normal for a compact yet powerful vacuum. Yes, the power cord is not as long as with a full-sized vacuum but I would not want to give up the small size for a few more feet of cable.
