Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless-Steel Soleplate

Customer Review: Best iron I ever used!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Short and sweet - this is hands down the very best iron I have ever used. The iron stands up very well without fear of tipping over if the ironing board is moved, the removable watering tank is a breeze to fill or empty, the steam and spray quality is unsurpassed and the retractable cord feature keeps the cord in pristine condition!

Customer Review: Best iron in the price category
Summary: 4 Stars

So, you can say I am an iron-man or forced iron-man. I have to wear ironed clothes everyday unlike most others. Given this, iron has an important role to play in my professional life. I tried many many irons over period of time. This iron is probably the best I used till date.

I like the iron to be little heavy so that cotton shirts can also be ironed and they look ironed :) this iron is heavy enough but not too heavy - you still have to go to gym. the sole plate looks good. A small complaint - in few days after I bought iron there was something stuck on the sole plate, I didn't burn anything, so may be it was due to little burning of iron stand cover. I couldn't remove the burn from the soleplate - like a nonstick pan. But surprisingly enough the iron still glides smoothly - no issue. And I feel that burn is getting dissolved by itself. We'll see after a while.

The other thing I love about this iron is retractable power cord. its really great and useful. I remember reading a review saying it doesn't matter. To me it matters, I can neatly retract the cord and put iron where ever I want.

Rest, Iron heats p as much as you could imagine. Control knob is good, you can set it based on fabric. Steam is amazing - best steam iron I used till date. the water tank for steam is removable - sometime I feel there should have been an option to fill in iron itself rather than taking tank out - it helps when you are ironing and water finishes. (Although its not advised to refill tank when iron is still hot)

So its a no brainer - in 35$ this iron is worth every penny. It will serve the purpose and serve it well.

Customer Review: Better than I expected. I love the iron.
Summary: 5 Stars

The Panasonic Iron (Steam/Dry) I love it. I recieved it promptly and it was better than I expected. I am a seamstress and needed a good iron. This does the work.

Customer Review: Better than the Shark and B&D I purchased.
Summary: 4 Stars

I had a Black & Decker iron that finally broke down after 15 years. I purchased another B&D and had to return it; not enough power or steam. Then a Shark, but it's too heavy, didn't glide well and no pointy peak for hard-to-reach places. I was surprised that Panasonic would have such a good product for the price. It wasn't a powerful and steamy like my old B&D, but then again, they don't make things like they use to. The light flickers off and on from time to time, even when in use. It's a bit heavier than my old B&D, but it's probably bc of the cord-holder attached. I like the way it glides, but I wish it had a pointier peak. A great buy for an iron, since there is nothing else out there that can beat the price or good (not perfect) quality.

Customer Review: Bummer! Iron is okay, but design flaw.
Summary: 2 Stars

Originally rated this iron 5 stars, but am changing because the retractable cord didn't work on the first iron, returned got a replacement and the cord won't retract on this one either! A design flaw, I suspect. If you do buy this iron, I'd suggest be sure to keep receipts and buy somewhere you can return.

The Panasonic NI-C78SR is the best iron I've used in years!! Based on reviews, I purchased two Rowenta irons over the past 5 years and was unimpressed. I decided to try another brand and bought the Panasonic NI-C78SR, which wasn't available in retail stores near me, but thanks to Amazon, I had my new iron in a matter of days after ordering. The weight is just right for me, not too heavy, not too light. The design is sleek and user friendly. Love the retractable cord. The steam output is fantastic--much better than either of the Rowenta irons I owned. I like this iron so much, I'm tempted to buy another as back-up, just in case the company stops making this model.
