Tools and Hardware Reviews of Panasonic NI-S300TR 1200-Watt Steam Iron with Curved Titanium-Coated Soleplate, White/GreenCustomer Review: A Great Little Iron Summary: 5 Stars
I have purchased a dozen or so steam-irons over the past 40 years and I was beginning to get very discouraged. It didn't matter how much I spent, they'd be clunky or would soon corrode up and die no matter what kind of water I used. This one shows great promise. It is lightweight without feeling cheap and fragile. The controls are simple and easy to get to. I love the retractable cord. The fill spout is angled to make it easy to fill at the faucet. And it irons beautifully. This was a great value!
Customer Review: A Sweetheart of an Iron! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a full-time sewist. I own an expensive (and wonderful) LauraStar Steam generating iron which I use at home. But I needed a smaller, inexpensive and reliable iron to take with me when I go to workshops, retreats, my quilting groups, etc. First I bought a fancy Rowenta, thinking if I paid a bit more the quality would be more, too. That was a huge mistake and I ended up with a leaking, spitting thing that I had to return right away. When I saw this little Panasonic I decided to give it a try, and was I ever pleasingly surprised. Of course, Panasonic seems to always make high quality items, so that was my first clue. The iron itself is quite easy to fill, takes tap water, heats quickly and DOES NOT SPIT or DRIP. The soleplate is super smooth and the nice pointy tip gets right into those corners and seam edges. It is stable when up on it's base, and the cord never tangles because it has a swivel built in at the juncture of cord and iron. It is a medium-small size that is easily packed and carried. I did make a special insulated bag for it so I could pack it while still hot if necessary. My only criticism is the automatic turn-off mechanism (I think mine is around 5-10 minutes), which is relatively inconvenient when one is pinning, sewing, and pressing--the time interval could be longer, like 30 minutes or so, and I would like that better. However, for the very affordable price of this iron, I think this is a sweetheart of an item. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Ahhh, Steam! Summary: 5 Stars
My old iron was failing in the steam area, so I am in seventh heaven with this iron. I have only had this iron for 3 weeks or so, but I am very pleased so far. And the price was reasonable. If the iron lasts, the rating sticks.
Customer Review: As good as Irons twice the price!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just needed a basic iron for work shirts and I could not be more happy with the purchase.
1) EXCELLENT value! I expected to pay almost twice as much for a trouble free iron.
2) Heats up very fast.
3) Glides around effortlessly on all my clothes. Curved, titanium sole plate makes a difference.
3) Retractable cord is a sweet feature.
Watch out for:
1) The door to the water tank is somewhat flimsy so be VERY VERY gentle with it.
2) If you leave the iron horizontal on the sole plate when turned off, water will leak out. That's more my fault than the iron's...
Customer Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
Works like a charm. It does what it said on description. Love the retractable cord.
