Customer Review: Excellent - for now Summary: 4 Stars
My Rowenta DX1700 of 1 year started leaking and spurting and smelling like it was burning. So time for a new iron. Everyone thinks I love ironing because I seem to be doing it all the time. No, I hate ironing but it is necessary. I generally spend between $40 and $70 for an iron and if I'm lucky they last 2-3 years. But, this last one only 1 year. So, I looked for something good but cheap and I found the Panasonic NI-S300TR for only $18.95. Some sites are selling it for up to $45. Now, I can't attest to the longevity - have had it for 2 weeks, but so far this is an excellent iron - if you're using steam. Doesn't seem to get very hot without it - that's why only 4 stars, but I always use steam so good for me. I've heard the heavier the iron the better. Let me tell you, if you're ironing a lot and you have a 6 lb iron, you need to be a weightlifter. This iron is 3.4 lbs and easy to maneuver. Has only a 6 oz. water tank but is much more water efficient than the larger tank of my Rowenta. Even if this fails after 1 year I've only spent $18.95. I bought 2 and didn't have to pay shipping. So, for me the the Panasonic NI-S300TR was an excellent buy.
Customer Review: Excellent Iron Summary: 5 Stars
Let me start by saying I hate ironing it drives me crazy. But this iron is amazing it heats up very fast, it glides over the clothes very easily because of the coating and the retracible cord is great. Highly recommended.

Really wonderful product, especially for the price. Good weight, but not too heavy, excellent steam power, heats up quickly. Excellent.
Customer Review: Excellent iron Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this iron to replace an old Westinghouse iron that I inherited from my Mother before 1980, so I calculate that it was more than 30 years old. I don't iron very often. I had washed a houseful of cafe curtains, and I wanted a good steam iron so that I wouldn't need to sprinkle them before ironing, something that would smooth out the wrinkles with as little effort as possible. I read quite a few reviews on Amazon before deciding which iron to buy. This one was highly acclaimed by many, so I bought it. What a good choice! I love this iron. Knowing that our tap water is hard, I bought a jug of distilled water and filled the iron's reservoir to the appropriate line, followed the directions for steaming, and in no time at all, my curtains were beautifully ironed. It was just perfect for the job. The price was very reasonable for such a good iron, too, and it arrived in only a few days after I ordered it. I like everything about this iron. It's very smooth, not heavy at all, and it's also colorful, which brightens the mood when you're ironing... not a chore I ever enjoyed until now. I like the retractable cord, too. It's especially handy when the iron is stored. I highly recommend this product.
