I have the privilege to be selected for the Amazon Vine Program. I get to test this iron for free, and in return, I am writing this review. Although I did not pay for this steam iron, I believe it is important to review it as if I paid for it: how would I feel if I spent $50 for this iron?
Well, this Panasonic 360-Degree Quick Multi-Directional Steam Iron is pretty good. I own two cheaper iron before this. My first one was probably about $10 and it leaked water in multiple positions. So I bought my second one (Steam Master Iron) specifically for its leak-proof feature. The Sunbeam iron rarely leaks, but there is absolutely nothing unusual about it. It is a passable iron and I still have it.
In comparison, this Panasonic steam iron is one step above my Sunbeam iron. It feels more powerful. The soleplate of the Panasonic iron has two points, front and back. In theory, this allows you to iron both back and forth and any direction. I find this to be a half-truth. It is true that you can iron forward and backward. However, you will unable to iron backward precisely, because the stands of the iron and your arm will block the visual. I find the 360 steam outlets effective as they help increase the steaming area and speed up the ironing process. The transparent water tank is nice. It is very easy to tell the water level compare to my previous steam irons. It also has an anti-dripping feature which I found to be true. I am indifference regarding the "titanium-coated" soleplate because I do not notice any real difference from the traditional stainless steel soleplate. In theory, it is easier to clean this soleplate if something is burned to it, but I have not had the opportunity to try it. I agree with another reviewer that this iron feels light which is probably because its soleplate is not made out of solid stainless steel. Consequently, it feels flimsy, but that is just a feeling.
I think this is a decent steam iron and certainly better than the one I have. I am giving this a 4 stars rating because it is a good steam iron and I would have been happy if I paid $50 for it, but I am not sure if I will be extremely excited about it.
