Tools and Hardware Reviews of Pentagon Tool "Lazy Lifter" Professional 11Ft Drywall Lift HoistCustomer Review: A tool that makes a tough job easy Summary: 5 Stars
This was my first time hanging drywall . I thought about making T braces with 2x4s and have my wife help me . Hanging 5/8 drywall overhead like that probably would have ended horribly . With this tool she helped me load the drywall and then I could send her away . It was very easy to lift and position the pieces provided you measured correctly ( who,me?) and put them in place . No arguments with the wife or broken drywall . It was easy enough I even taught her how to use it . For the do it yourselfer this is a must have for this type of work . I was thinking of selling it after I'm done but maybe not .Pro Grade Drywall Panel Lift - Hoist 11'-Ceiling 15'-Wall - One-Person Panel Application
Customer Review: An uplifting experience. Summary: 4 Stars
The Lazy Lifter Professional Drywall Lift Hoist does its job well. But first, it came double boxed, as freight, so the outer package had taken a beating. Inside packaging was pristine, and the sub assembled Lifter came through without a scratch. Lazy Lifter Professional 11 Foot Drywall Lift-One Person Operation-by Pentagon Tool The sub assemblies were easily combined into a complete unit in less than five minutes. The instruction manual was written in English only, so reference to it was a dream come true. Fit and finish was excellent. Only one nut to tighten, on the lifter assembly with the provided wrench and off to the task at hand. I am using 4x8 5/8 gypsum board on 9 foot high flat ceilings (At my age lifting a 12 foot sheet alone is not an option), so the table and outriggers placed out hold the sheet nicely. The table rotates so you can precisely position the sheet with little effort or having to move the lifter around. The unit rolls thru 36 inch doorways, and down 48 inch wide hallways with minimal encounters with the walls. Lifting a loaded sheet is easy with the wheel and handle via a cable and pulley lifting tower. 12 foot sheets might be a bit tougher, with 50 percent more weight. The outrigger panel supports deflect quite a bit, and I have resorted to adding short pieces of 1x2 on each one to hold the sheet closer to the rafters at the sheet end. Minor issue. The wheels are about 4 inches tall, but narrow, so they really dont like to roll over screw gun cords, or rotozip cords, or the occasional dropped screw. Again, minor issue, makes me keep the work area cleaner. So far my wife and I have installed more than 1200 square feet of ceilings in about a 3 week period only working about 5 hours a day on the drywall. So the Lazy Lifter helps the lazy retiree with the house project. Nice piece for the rookie or semi pro. Not sure what affects aggressive, full time, 12 foot sheets on angled ceilings would have on the unit, and I may not be testing that one out. Thank you Pentagon Tool.
Customer Review: Back saver Summary: 4 Stars
I wish I would have had one long ago. As I'm not a contractor anymore, I don't have much call to use this, but even if I never use it again it was well worth the $$ for the 25 sheet I had to hang recently.
Customer Review: Cheaply made Summary: 2 Stars
This lift is okay for light work, but the design is rather crude. Mine arrived with one of the welds broken. It doesn't fit together easily, either. The instruction book is worthless. And a couple of the parts simply don't work. I had to build some modifications onto it. If you need this for one job, it might be worth your money. But if you plan to use it over and over, do yourself a favor and buy a sturdier and more well-designed model.
Customer Review: DRY WALL LIFT Summary: 2 Stars
I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE COST OF SHIPPING. ALSO THE CONDITON OF MY LIFT WHEN I GOT IT. THE BOX WAS A MESS AND IT WAS A SCRAPED UP. WHEN I PUT IT TOGETHER IT WAS A LITTLE BENT. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THAT. I WILL SAY IT WORKED IN THE END. I E-MAILED MY CONCERNS BUT RECEIVED NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE .
