I was pleasantly surprised that this product actually works the way it was stated in the description. You do have to treat it like toilet paper with the rule of thumb that the sheet should be "over the top". Whenever I'm in a home improvement department, I wistfully peruse the paper towel holder/dispensers ! AT LAST I've gotten one so well made and the ease of use is remarkable ! Yeah..... I know ! waxing poetic on a paper towel dispenser is pathetic eh. Welcome to my life....ummmm I digress. But really, it's easy to load and it truly will dispense One Sheet and not roll the whole thing off ! Only odd thing is that when installing, if you set the bracket level, it somehow doesn't correspond to the roll of paper when it's on and gives a cockeyed appearance. Still working on that, that's why I didn't rate it a 5!Customer Review: At last

For some years Amazon wouldn't ship this to Australia, but somehow I got lucky this time. I bought it for my daughter, and both of us thought that it would only allow one sheet to be torn at a time - as my own holder does. But that's not the case here - if you keep pulling against the ratchet the paper towel will keep coming. But the ratchet provides the necessary degree of resistance to stop at one sheet and it works well once you get the hang of it. Pity that you have to line up the perforations though if you are in a hurry, as young mothers often are.
