I personally recommend this paper towel dispenser. I purchased it only a few weeks ago, but I already swear by it.
I purchased it after my fianceé and I moved in to a rental house that has virtually no counter space. I wanted a dispenser that would hold any size paper towel roll I would throw at it (I like buying the double-roll paper towels so I don't have to change the roll too often), as well as one where I would be able to pull off one paper towel/sheet at a time with one hand (as I often find my other hand doing something else when I need a paper towel). This product delivers on both of my needs. The only problem I have found with it thus far is that it does make a somewhat loud ratcheting noise, although the noise is not so bad that the pros don't outweigh the lone con.
The dispenser has a simple design (it's by no means flashy and/or elegant, but I wasn't looking for anything of that nature - merely something functional) and at its price point, this product is well worth buying, in my opinion.

The paper towel holder I've been looking for. I have been searching for one that doesn't come apart when you pull a sheet off of it, wobble or tip over, have threaded ends that take a long time to undo, isn't made of cheap plastic or any of the myriad of other problems that plague modern paper towel dispensers. The only minor improvement that I can think of would be asthetics. I like the chrome but I would like anitiqued bronze or satin nickel better. Still gets 5 stars.Customer Review: Finally! It might seem like a trivial thing, but reaching for a paper towel and pulling the whole role off the holder, or unwrapping twenty sheets instead of the one you really need is annoying to say the least. This holder solves all those problems. It's "ratcheting" mechanism assures that the roll stops spinning once the tear is made. An changing the roll is so simple that it can be done with one hand. Looks beautiful, is sturdy, mounted easily under a kitchen cabinet- took another reviewers advice and used the shorter screws the old one had to mount it and mounted easily.Would suggest this to anyone. ****Perhaps the supplier would include some shorter screws with this item as the ones provided would have gone through the cabinet bottom if we had used them.
