So, if you drop a ring, and, are smart enough to STOP all water from going down, you may find your diamond, in this trap.
Otherwise, traps (this 'J bend) are designed to "self cleanse".
Chances are few, to none, that it may be there.
Having an honest to goodness, "Intercepter", like a dentist uses, is the ONLY way to capture valuables that have mistakenly gone down the drain...

This is the nice looking drain. Specially for the first few days.
Later the dirt and soap still builds up in it. With the wheel you can only clean the Drain around the circle. Not the in- and out-flow pipes. So they become less shiny. But you can still clean the pipes with some sort of brush etc as you can see everything through. Quite an entertainment. Few remarks though. You do need some silicone filling around the connections to avoid leakage. The gaskets provided are for both 1.25" and 1.5" pipes but they are PVC. I wonder why they are not covered with silicone so they are softer and less prone to leak. That would be much more practical. And If I may advise the manufacturer to make the drain semi-transparent gray or blue so the build-up is less seen, but the drain is still transparent enough to see that there is something in it.

I read all of the reviews of this product, pro and con, including the responses by the manufacturer. I decided to order two of them to try. They were easy to install and haven't leaked a drop. I am going to order two more. To those who gave the product bad reviews, either you haven't tried them or you did something wrong. I think one of the problems some people have may be caused by over tightening. Hand tighten only worked fine for my. Just my opinion.

Very disappointed in this product. The name suggests a permanent flow when running the faucet. Even turning the wheel does not make food go away, it sits in the bottom. Not worth the money.
