I use this product for running in the woods at night time. It is light, doesn't slip down, lights an adequate distance and the up/down adjustments for the light angle are quite useful. The only weird thing about this light is that if you drop it(even lightly)it pops open with the potential for the batteries to fall out. I just hope that never happens when I'm in the middle of the woods at night! Otherwise, I am happy with my purchase.Customer Review: Good overall utility light

This is good quality general purpose light that is relatively inexpensive. I bought this model because it was the brightest light of all the models I compared that did not have a separate battery pack or a strap that goes over the top of your head. Even with 3 AAA batteries the unit does not seem cumbersome strapped to my head. I have a much older non-LED Petzl light that has never failed. I only upgraded to the newer LED model because it is so much brighter and lasts much longer on a set of batteries.Customer Review: Great Headlamp

I purchased this for my wife as a gift. I had recently gone on a camping trip and noticed everyone using these headband-lights. I knew my wife was looking for a reading lamp for when she reads in bed, and I thought this would work quite well. She loved it, and now uses it for all sorts of tasks. I have read all the other reviews for all the other versions and found this to be a great product. I needed one asap so I had to go to REI and since I do night hiking I needed one with a red lens. Naturally I was gonna buy the TekTikka but that was going to take too long so I got a lens kit and overall it was 10 bucks more and everything you need. The XP is great but this is definitely enough for 2 people hiking on a dark night up Mt. Wilson. I will be ordering a TekTikka for a backup, but the exchangeable lens set was all I needed. The only nice thing with the TEK is the red lens flips down allowing white and red, instead of a quick trail change with your knife. But you cannot change the colors in the future if needed.
