The title says it all. I had just purchased a Gerber triode headlamp which is very nice also but I needed something a little brighter. This Petzl Tikka Plus 4 fits the bill very well. It's not heavy and the battery life is quite acceptable for such a compact and bright rig. The lamp pivots slightly which makes aiming light on your subject easy. Oh, it's reasonably priced too. I bought this headlamp for my Red Eye Relay this past month. I bought it because of all the positive reviews I read about it. I got it a few days before the big race and tested it out at home. This thing can blind a person with its bright light! I ran a 108.5 mile race through the night and needed safety gear to get me through. This little light lit my path the whole night. It has multiple settings, but once you have it on one setting too long, and you hit the button again, it shuts off. I like that feature, so you don't have to go through all the different settings to shut it off. The strap was comfortable and by mile 2 of each of the legs I ran, I had completely forgotten about the lamp. It was very light on my forehead. The beam could be directed up or down, which was nice when it was pitch black out and I was running on gravel roads. I would totally recommend this light to anyone road running at night...or to anyone who wants to blind people!!!
