Nice, bright light, easy to turn on (I'm using it mountain biking). I tend to use the brightest setting rather than the broad one.
I wonder if the Everreaddy one like it I saw at Home Depot the week after I bought this is as bright?

I install satellite systems and wanted a quality headlamp for the crawl spaces. I was pretty impressed with its brightness and construction. I'd buy 2 more but the cost is significant although well worth it for one if you are going to use it on a regular bases, which you will if you have it. I don't want to purchase 3 of them so I just carry it with me. i use it when installing appliances instead of carrying a flashlight. Flashlights take one of your hands and are usually larger. I purchased 8 of these headlamps. In addition, I have used it previously. We conduct mammal research in Colima, Mexico, including extensive work with bats. These headlamps are excellent. They provide good light, with options for a narrow beam and a wide beam. They also allow for different light intensities. The thing I have been most impressed by is that they use very little power and the AAA batteries last a very long time. This is a standard item for our field crews.Customer Review: Phenomenal!

What can I say that hasn't been said already? I have the Petzl tikka plus (which I really like) but I have to say the XP is head and shoulders above even that outstanding unit. REALLY bright with the high setting and blinding with the boost mode. Great diffuser, high quality construction, nice tilt mechanism. Useful for so many things (i even used mine to paint a dimly-lit area of my apartment!) Hard to believe we used to lug around 3 D-cell maglights...Customer Review: Quality multi-purpose product

I purchased this headlamp when my 9 year old wanted a book light. It works fabulous for that purpose & more. You don't have to re-position the lamp when turning pages. She can use it indoors or out for bird watching, camping, hiking or reading. It is a quality product that she will utilize for years to come.
