I bought two of these for my husband and I to use while walking our goldens. But really, the best use so far has been to put one around the neck on each dog at night and we know exactly where they are when walking the beach and neighborhood. this headlamp is the best i have owned. with several power settings, it is versatile in a number of situations. the recessed power switch avoids problems i have had with other petzl lamps (i.e., difficulty in powering on/off and broken housing around switch).Customer Review: illuminating

pros: very bright; very durable; batteries last a long time; battery life indicator; short distance lighting(clear filter) works great
cons: no red filter; sold separately
paid around 45 dlls and it's what your really wanted when you bought that 20 dollar one.

The head lamp is great! I use it to walk the dogs. It leaves my hands free to hold leashes and lights up the path to see black ice or deer or anything else in the way. I highly recommend it.
