Tools and Hardware Reviews of Petzl E89 PD Tactikka XP Headlamp, Desert

Customer Review: Excellent Headlamp
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used other brands before, but this is the best of the best. Great light production and high quality materials make the Tactikka a winner. Small and lightweight, it functions perectly for around camp general lighting or more rigorous trail breaking. I keep baby in my back at all times. It could be a lifesaver!

Customer Review: Excellent Light
Summary: 5 Stars

Very well made and extremely comfortable. Just the ticket for working in dark spaces. No negatives for me. I like the fact that after using it for a while, the switch simply turns it off rather than forcing you to cycle through all the modes to turn it off. It's a little expensive but worth it.

Customer Review: Excellent light
Summary: 5 Stars

This light is great for running at night, camping, hunting or anytime you need hands free light. The filtered lenses are great for the military or anyone who needs to maintain their night vision. Battery life is excellent and the light is powerful enough for it's intended use.

This is my second Tactikka light and I will always have one.

Customer Review: Good Not great
Summary: 3 Stars

i got the sand colored one but other than that its the same light. Many reviewers said that is was a supper bright light. well it is but only in turbo mode and for that you must keep your finger on the button (cant let go). The low light is good for reading especially with the diffuser on (i keep the white on the light and the red in the clip). the high is good for walking around even looking at far distances. But its not a replacement for a good old hand mag light 6D. i knot its about 100X lighter, but i don't know if its worth $50.00. its a good light if you want yuor hands free and it is light and will stay on your head, just don't head bang. it would be the perfect light for $20.00, but since that will never happen lets say $30.00. if you want a small lightweight headlamp for working on your car or changing a flat on the highway at night or going for a stroll i would grab a 2AA mag light a headband and some duct tape, and with the change buy a LED something or another for the serious light. 10-15 vs 45. or just get the Petzl E49P TacTikka Plus its almost as god but cheaper and might go down even more. you don't really need all the diffusers.

Customer Review: Good buy!
Summary: 4 Stars

First opinions of this product were good. High quality. The head strap is nice and wide. Very comfortable. Good elasticity. The beam is bright and sharp. Well focused. And the boost feature does come in very handy when something is just out of range with the normal high setting. The extra lenses are nice, only had a single separate red l.e.d. with my old head lamp. With this one I like having selectable brightness settings, even when using different colors. The battery indicator is a welcome feature. No more heading out on the trail with dead batteries. All in all, I'm extremely happy with my pick. I will be buying another Petzl in the future!
