Tools and Hardware Reviews of Petzl E89 PD Tactikka XP Headlamp, Desert

Customer Review: Good, but not the best
Summary: 4 Stars

This item is good, but you might as well purchase the Petzl E49P TacTikka Plus 4-LED Headlamp for $15 less. It does all that the other one does for red light LED.

Customer Review: Great Light!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I had one of these lights for several years before I lost it last summer. Super bright and the red lens sure helped keep the bugs off at night while fishing. For Christmas, I got the new Tikka XP2 which has the red light and had a bit more distance. I rate this light "high" because when I got it, it was the best thing going! I've owned several Petzl lights over the years and the quality is great!

Customer Review: Great light for outdoor activities
Summary: 5 Stars

Initially skeptical of the other reviews but was very impressed after first use. Great for taking dogs out for evening walks in the woods. Diffuser option works well. Took dogs out for a walk in a new area and got turned around, was greatful I had this light available and that it worked so well. Have bought 2 more, one for my hunting pack and one for my sons birthday.

Customer Review: Great light for travel and home
Summary: 5 Stars

I have owned several Petzl headlights and this is by far the best. The LED is bright and the interchangeable filters make it easy to use the light in a variety of settings. I always travel with this light and have used it during blackouts at home. This light will be in my suitcase for upcoming trips to Europe and the Arctic. Construction is very nice and battery life is excellent. A great product.

Customer Review: Great product, highly recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

This light will make you a one-eyed Gort capable of searing the retinas of other mammals.
Additionally, you can strap it onto an ill-tempered sea bass if you have a British secret agent to dispose of in a highly complicated but easily escapable situation.

Seriously, this is a great light with settings for low light, medium, ultra bright, or blinking if you need to warn the humans you're coming to get them. Also, there is a slide that goes across the screen to diffuse the light. As others have noted, the batteries last a long time. The original standard ones on mine finally gave out after two years, so now I'll use my rechargeables. I think this model was recommended by Backpacker magazine several years ago.

Mine did not come with a red filter, but wish it did.
