Tools and Hardware Reviews of Pike Street 100-Percent Egyptian Cotton 725-Gram 6-Piece Towel Set, Bluestone

Customer Review: Garbage
Summary: 1 Stars

Do not buy these towels. They are pretty much terrible. After the first wash, three of them have the corners fraying and the other 3 unraveled quite a bit. Spend a bit more money and get a better product.

Customer Review: Good Value, reasonable quality
Summary: 3 Stars

These towels are nice and thick as well as being very absorbent. They are also a good size -- larger than many in this price range. The only con is that the binding along the edges is not sewn on very well or is too close to the edge, so you get a bit of fraying, even on the first washing before you use the towels. Be sure you wash them without anything you don't want to get covered with cotton bits -- they shed a lot when you first wash them.

Customer Review: Good but with flaws
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought a couple sets of these for my wife for Christmas and when we took them out they were in good shape. A few hours after them sitting on the table I looked very closely at the threading and one section was unraveling. I was disappointed but we kept it and it hasn't kept unraveling but I fear one day it will.

This thing beads water and doesn't necessarily soak it in. It feels a lot different than some of the other towels we own. I am used to throwing a towel around me after getting out of the shower and having the water instantly get soaked in. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, the water doesn't dump all over the ground but it is a bit different. I would recommend this for a cheap set of towels and you won't be dissapointed if they get messed up after a little while since they are inexpensive.

Customer Review: Good for the price, when on sale
Summary: 4 Stars

I ordered this set of towels in bluestone quite a while ago. They are my favorite towels. They are big, soft and I love the color. They wash well and have worn well, I think I must have had them a year or so now. They aren't perfect, there are a few loops that have come out and have little dangling threads, and around the edges some of the thread used to sew the border on have come loose, but the edging is still on strong and it doesn't effect the quality of use and is really hardly noticeable unless you look for it. I really don't know what other people are talking about with the absorbancy problem. I think I vaguely remember the smell from the dye when I first got them, and I usually wash my towels with vinegar instead of fabric softener, so that may have also gotten rid of whatever is impeding absorption. I recommend a 1/4 cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle to anyone having that problem with any towels. In short, I think the towels are a great bargain, when on sale for $20 for the set. $30 is ok, but I'm not sure I'd put the value that high.

Customer Review: Good value for the price

Not crazy about the color - the bluestone on the site looked much more blue/gray which is what I would have preferred. However they are nice towels for the money.
