I wasn't too certain about ordering this product; pictures can be misleading. But, I was more than surprised and delighted with my purchases. I purchased several sets of these towels when they were the Deal of the Day and have not been disappointed. I do wash them in cold or warm water without fabric softener (I use the textured plastic balls that you can purchase for use in the dryer to fluff them and keep them soft when fabric softener isn't used). They have retained their color and continue to soften with repeated washing. They are very absorbent and large enough to do the job without being cumbersome or taking up too much space in the washer or the dryer. I hope they run them as a Deal of the Day again, as I made this purchase as a trial - when this happens I plan to throw out all the rest of our old towels and replace them with these towels. I purposely bought towels that were vivid in color to assess whether that color would hold up through washing, and to this point it has. We have had these towels for a couple of months, so they have been washed numerous times (they have become the towel of choice). We tend to use the bath towels more than the hand towels and the washcloths, so they are washed more often - to this point the colors still match even though the bath towels have beem washed more than the rest of the set. Very satisfied and they are as represented. A nice option would be the opportunity to purchase additional bath towels without having to buy the whole set, since they are what we use the most.Customer Review: Extremely soft but useless for absorbtion

I had purchased the same towels two years ago and we absolutely loved them. The set two years ago was 5 stars. When they were on special we purchased more. They are some of the softest towels we have ever owned but they are useless when it comes to drying your body or hands. After 20 washes in hot water they are marginally better, but beware, something is being used on the fibers to make the towels soft and it is preventing the cotton from holding the moisture.
I would suggest that these make great show pieces in a guest bathroom that never get used, but I wouldn't want my guests to feel like they couldn't get dry after bathing.

The towels are very soft to the touch however we had to return one of the shipments after the first wash as the stiching was coming off. Great price, soft towels but do not hold up well after washing.

These towel sets are very nice. Embroidered them for Christmas presents and they came out lovely. Good buy.
