The Extend-a-Chime does exactly what it claims to do -- in our case, allowing our existing wired doorbell to be audible even in the furthest reaches of our basement. And although I'm not the handy type, I had it installed AND tested in the time it took to microwave a Hot Pocket. If you can master double-sided tape, you're pretty much good to go.
