My parents have had a bookshelf headboard since before I can remember and have always wanted one myself. Unfortunately, nowadays they are pretty hard to come by. So, when I found this one I was so excited. The headboard arrived in good time. The only negative was that it came with instructions for the wrong item, but I emailed the Prepac customer service with the item number and the next day they emailed me the proper instructions in a PDF format. The instructions are pretty easy to follow, and this from a first time product assembler. There was one step that I asked my father to do, but it was the step that involved drilling something in and I didn't want to screw it up. Another reviewer stated that it is a bit unstable during assembly and I found this to be true as well. I would recommend assembling as much as you can on the floor and then when you need to stand it up prop it up against a wall for the rest. after it is assembled, though it is wonderfully stable. If I could change anything it would be to split the two big shelves on each side in half so you could have two shelves on each side instead of one, but I just stack the books and it works fine. I love this headboard and it works perfectly for what I need!
