I bought 6 of these hangers for my coat closet thinking that the wide shoulders would be good for the heavy wool coats of guests. The hangers arrived well packed, but that is the end of the positives. Of the 6 hangers, I only had to pull 4 out of the box to toss them back in with disgust.
The first hanger had many pock marks near the top where there were indents with no stain. In addition to the obvious esthetical issue here, the fact that these areas are very light brown make me doubt that these hangers are actually made of Cherry Wood but rather stained to look like they are. I am not sure if this matters or is to be expected, but I thought it worth mentioning.
The cross bar of the second hanger was slightly loose and not connected flush with the top section. The cross bars are connected with simple, thin metal pins and don't look to be build to last.
he third hanger was ok.
The fourth hanger had the crossbar completely detached from the top section on one side in addition to a large missing chunk from that end of the crossbar.
As troubling as the obvious and significant flaws to the hangers was the fact that they are all covered with little dings and marks. My best guess is that these hangers were used at a retail store and are now being resold, but I cannot be sure.
I spend $16 / per hanger and expected some seriously nice hangers. What I got were cracked, gouged, flimsy, and likely second hand hangers. It is by far the most disappointing purchase I have ever made on Amazon.
I am starting the return process. I will update this post with details on that once it is completed.
