I bought the light to help in my automtive air conditioning work. A black light is a must to use with the fluorescent dye in finding leaks. Although I already have a light which clamps onto the car's battery terminals, that one sometimes lacks the portability I like. This one is great for the detection and the seemingly true blue light makes the dye really glow. It is serving me quite well.Customer Review: A must have if you have carpet and pets!

I am now regretting purchase this UV flash light. The thing is, it works so well and revealed how terrible my carpet is. Now I am scared of walking on it barefoot!
The flash light is very hight quality with good workmanship. It fels so nice in my hand, the clicking power button is very hice. And bright. I wait until the evening and start shining the light on my carpet, and oh my god! It is amazing what your pets can do when you are not looking.
I am now looking for a professional carpet cleaner.

The outside design is pretty good for this flashlight. Looks cool and looks well built. but inside, the elastic contact is very easy to break. That is why you saw review here complaining about it broke and became useless. because of this, I give it a two star. Mine is still work, but I knew the elastic contact inside will break soon. So, I don't recommend it. The light is not very bright, but good enough for total darkness. You will see nothing on sunlit. and who will really need it when the sun is in the sky?Customer Review: Could Be Brighter

Overall I'm happy with this UV flashlight. The aluminum body is something you would find on a $5.00 pocket flashlight. The button is OK also and I had no problems. I was worried because some reviewers talked about a defective button. The battery holder was adequate but had no markings for battery polarity except a single plus sign at the top. I've seen better buttons and battery holders on cheaper flashlights. My only complaint is the brightness of the UV light. Don't even think about using this light in a room with normal daylight from a window. It is not even bright enough at night with the lights on in the room. The UV light just isn't bright enough. At night, with all the lights out, the light becomes usable for items that fluoresce under UV light. The brighteners in paper, tissue and some laundry detergent will then stand out against the background. Pet urine is detectable, but is not as bright as paper. The light is small and portable so detecting repairs in antiques or paintings is possible in a darkened room. Overall a 4 star rating is generous. The main reason I bought this flashlight over others that were cheaper, was the claim the light was 385-390 nanometers. Do not get the 400nm flashlights. There are fewer things that fluoresce at that frequency. There is not a lot of choice in the market for a pocket UV flashlight at this price level.
Warning: Do not look directly at the light because even though the light looks dim as normal light, the UV light that you can't see is much brighter and can damage your eyes. (Maybe it is just to dangerous to have a much brighter UV flashlight)
