This is more of a toy than a real black light. I have an older florescent black light that is very effective and really makes thing GLOW!!! This unit hardly makes a bright white sheet of paper stand out in a completely dark room.Customer Review: Does poorly with urine

I got this to find dog urine and was unable to find anything in carpets, even in bathrooms was unable to see very much.
I later got one of the portable black lights for pets and WOW what a difference very strange on the amount of stuff that shows up.

I test it it at night directly to my dogs little peeing plastic hydrant and id did not shine any differently. The urine was still wet!
I bought it to find stains where my yorkie had peed and it is USELESS for that purpose.
Although it is truly a UV light because my credit card and driver's license and other materials did show hidden marks, particularly for dog urine is useless.
It is of good quality good size and it is bright. It should be good for people that need to check dollar bills, fake documents and other stuff.

Product is sturdy - I like the aluminum feel to it. The power button has a good tactile feel to it and has not yet given signs that it is going to fail. It appears to give off a lot of UV light although I don't have equipment to test the particulars of it. The only issue I have is that one of the LEDs seems to have a loose connection and sometimes does not illuminate. However for my use, this is acceptable quality, and overall I'm pleased with the lamp.
