Tools and Hardware Reviews of Quick-Grip 59200CD 2-Inch Handi-Clamp

Customer Review: Good concept, poor execution
Summary: 1 Stars

I have had two of these clamps for a few years now. They are as easy and convienient to use as the positive reviews describe, yet I hardly ever use them. They simply won't retain enough clamping pressure for most uses. As soon as I release the handles, about 80%-90% of the pressure disappears. Since basic spring clamps are just as easy to use, hold better and are much less expensive, I see no reason to buy this clamp. If I lost mine, I don't think I would ever miss them.

Customer Review: Great Customer Service
Summary: 4 Stars

I am adding to my review below. Contacted the company and they sent new springs and instructions on how to fix the clamp so they won't fall out and now they have redesigned the clamp so no springs will fall out. Great products from this company.

>>>>I thought I would really like this clamp. However, the first time I used it, the spring fell out and another little piece fell out that I can not find. It is now virtually useless. I am going to contact the company and will report later on what their support is like.<<<<

Customer Review: I give up. What size is this clamp?
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a couple of two inch Handi-Clamps and love them. I also know they make a four inch clamp as well. No where do you give the size...

Customer Review: Look! True One Hand Operation!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought mine to hold shop-made jigs in place while routing and sawing. They are very convenient to use. The jaw has a maximum opening of about 2", but to get a really tight grip, about an 1 1/2" thick or less works best. I always keep the black release lever on the top handle if I can. Two of these will hold a jig very tightly. The rubber pads will not mar your workpiece or slip.

I have modified a few of my jigs by gluing 400 grit sandpaper to the bottom of the jig with spray-on contact cement so they grip the workpiece better. One finger will release even the tightest grip by pulling up in the black release lever. They are so much easier to use than "C" clamps or even larger Vise Grip bar clamps, which both have to be operated from below the table to assure a lower profile in your work area.

These are tough little clamps that you will find new uses for whenever you're in the shop. Get several - you don't want to end up "one clamp short of a set-up."

Customer Review: Mostly worthless
Summary: 1 Stars

Not enough pressure. No mechanical advantage applied to work. You might as well use your hand.
