Works just as advertised. Gets the bikes up out of the way for the most part. If my ceiling in the garage was about a foot taller that would be ideal but still not much ducking is needed to get under the bikes. One thing I foresee changing in the future is the rope. The nylon rope supplied frays and snags on things really easily and I'll probably end up swapping it out for a tougher climbing cord style rope later. I think the construction on this thing is fine and certainly worth the price compared to others. It operates smoothly if you assemble it properly and use the measurements they provide. I was overly cautious when installing it so I deviated a little from their directions which meant I had to make a trip to the hardware store. Once I had everything though it went together and up pretty easy. I'm getting another one for another bike and will probably end up owning a couple more as my kids get older and their bikes also need to be stored. Can't imagine how you could be disappointed with this thing. If you are thinking about trying it before buying multiples don't bother. I did that so now I'm going to have to get all my stuff out all over again, it would have been easier to mount them at the same time. For best results I suggest mounting to a flat 2x4 first, it might not look as pretty but it's not going anywhere.Customer Review: Does the job as intended

Nothing fancy here. Mount it and store your bikes. You may have to bend the hooks, depending on the bike seat. Safety lock is nice. Keeps the bike from falling on your head. We were a bit nervous with these bike hoists for the garage because they were so inexpensive. We decided to give them a try and wow, they work like a charm. No more back breaking work hauling them onto hooks or racks, you clip a hook by the handlebars and one behind the seat and start pulling the rope. Easy as can be. Use your effort in biking, not storing the bike. We highly recommend them.
