Tools and Hardware Reviews of RSVP 30-by-12-Inch 3-Tier Wire Hanging Basket, ChromeCustomer Review: I would not trust this chain in battle... Summary: 1 Stars
The baskets themselves are great. However, if you plan to put more than four bananas, two grapefruit, and two onions in this basket, you will be sadly disappointed. Not only will the chain break, but your fruit will fall to the floor/sink/counter and potentially incur bruising. It could make a not-so-good Monday that much worse.
Of course, if you have other means of suspending these baskets and wish to devote some time and energy to doing so, this could turn into a great DIY project; I myself have refashioned the baskets with fishing line...and so far, 20 pounds of fruit has stayed suspended for over a week.
Best of luck!
Customer Review: If you understand that it has limitations it works just fine Summary: 5 Stars
I read just about every review for this product before chancing a purchase. It came in a decent package first off and was undamaged. Although the individual product came with the chains a bit tangled up, upon correcting that and orienting it properly I was able to hang it with no problem and put as much as 7lbs of items on it. I have not had any problems thus far and I am inclined to help bring the rating on this item back up. I am sure 5%-10% of items shipped could lead to defects but based on the reviews it seems like a careless assembly of the components and an overloading of the baskets themselves is what has caused the items to fail. I currently have 3 oranges, 6 limes, 2 bulbs of garlic, 7 med onions, and about 10 medium sized potatoes and it has capacity for more. I think the item is worth a chance baring the care and consideration of assembly and also not throwing the entire pantry onto the baskets and expecting it to hold up. I like mine and when Amazon offers pictures of assembled and used items in peoples reviews I think Ill post a picture of it.
Customer Review: Nice square baskets Summary: 5 Stars
Perfect for what I needed them for! I have 11 pears 8 apples & 5 oranges in the baskets & they are holding great. I love them. & having the fruit hanging at eye range reminds me to eat healthier. I totally recomend them.
Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised Summary: 5 Stars
After reading some of the other reviews regarding the workmanship of these baskets, I was a little nervous, but, since they were exactly what I needed, decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! They (I bought 2) are very well-made, much more sturdy than the collapsible 'mesh' type hanging baskets I've owned in the past. I've had them for about a month, and they are filled with various veggies, including potatoes, as well as bagged pantry staples, such as rice, and dried beans. They are holding the weight nicely, no problems with the chains breaking or stretching.
Customer Review: Pretty Flimsy Summary: 3 Stars
This is hanging in our kitchen holding bananas, lemons, and a potatoe - but it won't hold much more. It's pretty flimsy. When we got it, several of the links had fallen off and we had to put it back together. Despite our attempt to count the links on each side, the thing is still a little uneven. It does what we want it to, but if you're looking for anything stronger, don't get this
