Customer Review: A little disappointing

We bought this manual drip coffee maker for use when camping. While you would think that a manual drip coffee maker would be a simple apparatus where not much could go wrong, in this case there's one fatal flaw. The flange at the bottom of the cone needs to be wider so that it provides more stability on wider mouthed thermoses. This filter borders on scary because all of the weight of the water and coffee are centered over the bottom flange that isn't wide enough to provide a stable base for the coffee maker. It teeters!
We gave up on this thing and went back to the one-shot Melitta coffee makers that you can sometimes find on Melitta cans in the grocery--or maybe on Amazon. While they only make one cup at a time, they are well designed and fit well over mugs that are fairly wide.
