It is definitely a space saver. Simple installation and works well, even on my 12-foot ceiling. I encountered two drawbacks which could have been better. I bought two hoists and both cords had frayed spots which indicates to me some manufacturing defect. The other issue I had was the quality of the screw heads...they were too soft. When screwing them into the joist gets tough, the "plus sign slot" on the philips screw head would get damaged. Two got damages bad enough that I had to unscrew and throw them out. Thankfully the package came with 2 extra screws.Customer Review: Does what they say

I did install two of these on both sides of my garage. Once u have taken the measurements right (for in between the hangers) - I dont see where you can go wrong with the install. Looks very clean and efficient.Customer Review: Easy install & easy to use

This unit installed in less than 20 minutes and works like a charm! BUT...watch where you put the last pulley. The instructions with my unit said to put the pulley with the cord at the handlebar end. When you do this the bike does not rise or rest level. Install the unit the way it is shown on the box with the final pulley and cord at the seat. I bought and installed the Racor bike hoist a few weeks ago. It operates smoothly and appears to be built well-enough to last a long time. I was concerned that it might be easy to drop the bike but the rope-stopping mechanism works great. My small-ish girlfriend has no problems using it. And yes...it definitely helped with my garage re-org.
