Customer Review: A misfitting nightmare

Poorly aligned bolt holes create a bike stand that won't even sit flush on the floor. The whole thing is "sprung", or misaligned once it goes together, with brute force, I might add. Easy to strip out the allen wrench recepticals on the screws. After working with it about 2 hours, I may have to send it back. If you find one of these already assembled, it might be worth buying, but spare yourself a lot of misery. Overall, poor quality control. Also, all the screws, washers, and tools were floating in the box. Lucky they all made it without getting out.Customer Review: A1 Bike Rack

We love the bike rack. When we aren't using it in the garage we take it to bike races. The bikes sit perfect in the back of the van in the rack.
The bikes fit right into the slots without having to strap them in. We love how it is so portable too. Great product.

The Racor Floor Bike stand is as advertised. Other reviewers have complained about putting it together and poor instructions. I am fairly handy, and, while putting it together in not rocket science, you do have to play around with it a bit before you get it right. Otherwise the stand does what it is suppose to. Just be careful with putting in bike with the rear wheel in. If the rear derailleur is in a high gear it will hit or jam against the Racor tube. Also if you are using it for two full size bikes facing the same way, one will have to be front first and the other rear first, otherwise the handlebars will hit each other.Customer Review: Assembly Was A Nightmare

I assigned 4 stars because (after the nightmare assembly process) it is a very sturdy and functional rack. Suggestions to make assembly easier:
1. Do NOT use the Allen wrench provided as it is made of inferior material and will strip the screws provided. A quality Allen wrench will work with the screws provided.
2. The manufacturer uses mostly very short screws which makes it very difficult to attach the legs to the other pieces. After struggling with several of the small screws at least 20 minutes, I discovered it is possible to begin by using the larger screws to first bring the pieces together - then back out the large screw and replace it with a small screw, which will than work easily. The manufacturer should have used all larger screws which would work with the design of the pieces.
NOTE TO MANUFACTURER: STOP PROVIDING A WORTHLESS ALLEN WRENCH WHICH, IF USED, DESTROYS THE SCREWS!
ALSO, IF THE MACHINE PROCESS CAN'T BE IMPROVED TO MAKE THE PIECES SLIDE IN PROPERLY, PROVIDE ALL LARGER SCREWS.
