Bought two for my two car garage that overflowed with [...] purchases. Actually used them to lift the pushmower, power sprayer, leaf mulcher and some other odds and ends that were to heavy to put on shelves (max 250 lbs)for the winter. Be sure to purchase a stud finder as directed. The first one assembled slowly but the second one was a breese. Cranks slowly when lifting a heavy load but I don't plan on raising/lowering the load more than a few times a year.Customer Review: Found new floor space!!

I found this product to be exactly as advertised. As mentioned in a couple other reviews, cranking the platform up and down is not extremely hard but it is a workout. So, you don't want to put something on this that you will use daily. The crank has a nice little safety lock to prevent it from accidently lowering. Very sturdy design.
The only things I would caution people about this is product is;
1) With the standard cables, it is made for an 8' ceiling. In a 10' garage, the platform will stop 2' off the ground. Since it is hanging by cables, the platform will move around while you are loading stuff on it.
2) You should look at how far it will hang down. If you have an 8' ceiling and you put a 24" tall box on the platform, the bottom support bars will be about 5' 9" high. Can be a head knocker.
Overall, I am very happy with this and am looking to buy another one.

This is exactly what I wanted to store my portable fish house. House takes up too much room in garage and now I just look at it hanging up out of the way. Was lucky to have studs where I needed them and this is a MUST. You might have to monkey around to get the platform level but close is good enough for what I needed. You will want to use a portable drill to raise and lower it because the crank would take too long and might be a bit hard. I have not even tried it and won't. It lowers far enough to be able to slide the fish house into my truck with ease. I would recommend this and I might think about another as well.Customer Review: Garage Storage

The Racor Heavy lift is a very good product. We have a high ceiling in our garage and the lift works very well to storage items that are sometimes heavy to lift up high.
