These are surprisingly expensive for a sheet of pleated paper with adhesive on one end, but they're sturdy enough for temporary use and actually look pretty nice, meeting OCD HOA requirements until / unless you get something permanent. We put them up when we moved in so we didn't have to decide right away on a permanent alternative. Read through the sizes and packages offered here carefully and factor pricing into your decision -- your out of pocket total can vary by a factor of 2. These cut reasonably well with scissors, just don't try to do the whole contracted blind at once. They come with an abundance of plastic clothespin-type clips to hold them open if desired.Customer Review: Excellent temporary window covering if you cut and hang it right

First and foremost: Be sure to clean the surface where you want the adhesive to adhere and let it dry before attempting to stick up the blind.
We have used these since 2006 when moving in and out of homes, and have them hanging now in some windows of our new home, up since October 2010 (we're doing a really, really gradual move-in and re-do this time since it's going to take forever to sell our other house in this market anyway). I have never had one not stick except for immediately after a new painting of the wood window trim. We learned that ***the better way*** is to attach it directly to the metal or vinyl window frame instead of the painted area. The same one that fell from the fresh paint stuck there -- had plenty of adhesive for a second attempt -- and hangs yet today, so not a one has been wasted. These blinds will even re-attach if removed for cleaning or painting if you are careful to keep the adhesive strip clear while it is off the window a day or two.
Easy to cut to size once you learn the best way: mark cut line, lay blind on counter, flip out 4-5 folds, cut with scissors, flip out another 4-5 folds, cut with scissors, and so on until done. Getting ready to prep the other house to sell/rent, so need more. Have been purchasing them at the home improvement center, but sometimes they're out of stock on the multi-packs and the prices is not so good when packaged individually. Glad to find here at Amazon for future purchases.

I ordered these to go behind some sheers in my breakfast room. They were easy to trim and install, even when I had to combine 2 of them for a double window. I used a glue stick to glue the 2 shades together for that window, which works very well. Although they are listed as temporary, they will probably stay now that I have them up.Customer Review: Great style for a low price! Perfect as quick fix or even more long-term

I love these shades, they actually look really nice and were easy to use. We needed something right away so that we could move into our new house and have some privacy but we didn't have the time or money to find all our curtains and shades at this point. A friend recommended these and I am so glad because they were quick, easy, cheap and look almost as good as expensive permanent shades. I'd probably look into the corded version as it can be a pain to keep clipping these up and down, and I'm not sure how durable they'll be since they're made of paper, but it's been a month and I'm really happy with them. In some rooms we may not even replace them.
