Tools and Hardware Reviews of Reliable Steamboy T1 Steam Floor Mop

Customer Review: Disappointing
Summary: 1 Stars

This steamer/mop leaves a lot of water on the floor without actually cleaning the floor. In retrospect I should not have expected steam to clean a floor.

Customer Review: Dissatisfied
Summary: 1 Stars

This product is difficult to put together and is very hard to push around to clean a floor. In order to make it easier to use you have to use a lot of water and it takes forever to dry. No instructions on how to use on a carpet even though there is a "carpet attachment". Would never use on a carpet because of the water needed. Very disappointed in this product.

Customer Review: Do not buy!

This thing is terrible. Barely no steam, the mop head cover keeps coming off (no matter how much I tried to tighten it) and the cord is super short. I returned it the NEXT DAY!

Customer Review: Does a good job
Summary: 4 Stars

I have one of those sponge mops, but it seems every time I stop, it leaves a mark on the floor, which aggravated me to no end. I then got a Microfiber mop. The one you only need water to clean the floor. That did a pretty decent job, although it seemed to not get up all the dirt and over time, it seemed to keep building up dirt. I tried one of those mops you have to keep buying pads and cleaner, but those can get expensive after a while and even they have trouble getting up scuff marks.

Then I saw this add on a steam mop. It was about a hundred dollars and I was reluctant to even think of spending that much on a floor mop. But the more I read about them, the more they sounded like the kind of mop I needed. Since I spent a thousand dollars on a Kirby vacuum, a hundred didn't sound that bad after all. Well I spent a few hours on the computer checking out different models. There was likes and dislikes on many of them. Mostly about soaking the floor. or them not putting out enough steam. I almost bought a Euro steam mop I saw at Cosco, for a lot less, but after reading people's comments on it, I could see why. I didn't even have a switch to pull to start and stop the steam either. Well, I settled on the Reliable Steamboy T1. It seems to do just about everything I expected in a steam mop. It does leave the floor wet, but not soaked as some people said. I found it takes about 15 minutes to dry. Less when I went over it with the dry fiber mop. Look folks, it's steam and that is from water. You need to expect it's going to be wet when doing the floors. It cleaned them better than anything else I used and I didn't get any streaks or marks like I was getting before. I have linoleum and tile and it worked great on both. The pad fell off once, but
I pulled the string a little tighter and had no problem after that. Now it does push a little hard, but if you let out a little steam to soak the pad a little before you start, it gets easier.

It seems to be made pretty sturdy and there is only two screws that you need to put in to put it all together. Line the screw holes and just push the pieces together. The water filler is nice but remember to shove it all the way down after filling, or chances are it will leak. I had no problem with it.

Anyway, I'm not at all sorry I bought it. It does what it says it will do. My floors look great and I'm a happy camper.

Customer Review: Does a good job for the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I was very pleased with this toughly built commercial grade machine. It does a great job cleaning tile floors using tap water. No expensive solutions or other gimmicks. I came with two cloth cleaning pads which should be good enough for home use. For commercial use I'd order more pads. The pads need to be laundered between uses.

Note that like similar devices, this is not a vacuum cleaner. It sanitizes an already vacuumed tile floor.

The machine I received was made in Canada.
