Tools and Hardware Reviews of Reliable Steamboy T1 Steam Floor MopCustomer Review: GREAT LITTLE MACHINE Summary: 5 Stars
Pulled it out of the box and thought that it was too small for my 4 bedroom. Set up was easy and to my surprise, it did a great job. The floor gets a little too wet and I thought that there must be soil left in the water on the floor, so I performed the paper towel test, it was wet, but clean. So far my best buy this year. A two hour cleaning job just turned into a 45-minute job. YIPPIEEE!!!!!
Customer Review: Good Product... but proof read your manual !! Summary: 4 Stars
The mop seems to work pretty well. But I have to wonder about it's quality based on the User Manual that comes with the mop.
For example:
The manual refers to the "enhancing absorbency" of the "100% cotton floor cloth." But... the tag on the cloth says its "70% Polyester."
The manual says the "Cloth Pad can be machine washed in hot water and tumbled dry." But... the tag on the cloth instructs: "Do not tumble dry" and shows water temperature to be 60 degrees (cool). I'm guessing the tag is correct since the cloth fits snugly and any shrinkage would ruin it.
The manual says the "LED will illuminate when the steamer is ready for cleaning." I put cold water in, plugged it in, and the LED light came on immediately. Obviously I had to wait a few minutes for it to heat up.
The cord is a little short but should work in most rooms. Nothing that an extension cord (3 prong) can't fix easily.
I just hope the mop was put together with more attention to detail than it's manual!!
Customer Review: Good, but not a miracle cleaning machine Summary: 3 Stars
We have a large kitchen with tile flooring, and a pre-finished wood floor in the dining room. This mop produces plenty of steam and does work great on the tile. My only issue which is perhaps unavoidable is that the cotton mop heads quickly become saturated with water. Once that happens the mop starts to leave behind a fair amount of water which of course takes longer to dry... I now keep 2 mop heads ready and usually switch to the second about half way through. On the wood floor, the cotton mop head seems to "stick" to the floor at first, making it difficult to push the mop around. Once it gets wet it's a little better, not great, but then you are leaving lots of water behind which probably isn't good on the wood floor even though pre-finished. I plan to stick with using the mop only on the tile. The steam trigger also must be held constantly which is a pain, it would be good if there was a "hold" or "lock" on the trigger to keep it depressed. I do like the mop head shape, it does get into corners great, and the overall cleaning is great (the mop head gets very dirty which is a good thing). I would recommend this product for fast clean up jobs on relatively clean floors and small areas, say around the kitchen table or in bathrooms. It just cannot handle large areas.
Customer Review: Great Concept, Failure of a Product Summary: 2 Stars
I really, really wanted to love this steam cleaner. I tried to overlook the annoying flaws like the fact that it falls over all the time, the water compartment leaks, and the cord doesn't hook onto itself. I wanted to proof my family wrong. They all said it looked like another stupid, gimmicky product, and they were right. The idea of steam cleaning is great, but this product is a huge letdown. It leaves far too much water behind and you still have to get down on your hands and knees to scrub any time you have anything substantial on the floor. I am fairly tall and the steam cleaner hurts my back after just mopping our small kitchen. I find I have to lift the product up and drag it towards me in order to not leave a trail of dirt. And all the hoopla about getting into corners and tight spaces, well forget it. Get your sponge out, there isn't any real improvement there over a mop. In the end the quantity of flaws make me wish I had saved the money.
Customer Review: Great for Tile Summary: 4 Stars
My house is all tile. This steamer makes mopping a breeze. Dries quickly and get into the corners.
